Incredible Music From Memory reissue of 3 percussive workouts from Curt Cress's 1983 solo album ‘Avanti’ and 2 detours into House music with alt versions of the forward-thinking drum track ‘Dschung Tek’, released in 1991 under Curt’s ‘C.C’ moniker. Dope!!
Four stunning tracks from South African bassist Sipho Gumede, taken from two rare 80s albums where South African roots meet American boogie. Side A features Zulu vocals and African jazz while the flip has drum machines and U.S soul/gospel styles. Incredible stuff!
Avant-garde jazz fusion from British trio The Comet Is Coming, released on one of Jazz music's most dignified labels; Impulse! As their name suggests, this is jazz music written for the apocalypse. Fans of Sun Ra, Alice Coltrane and Can, this is for you!
Venice native musician Gigi Masin self-released two modestly pressed LPs 'Wind' (1986) and 'Wind Collector' (1991), neither of which gained any sales or awareness. Seemingly by word of mouth, his music has recently developed into something of a cult following. Masin's productions are intricate, deeply emotive and contemplative and sometimes include sparse and hypnotic looping compositions that could be paralleled to early Detroit Techno. Music From Memory has compiled over 30 years of work from the mid-1980s, including 17 unreleased cuts. This is electronic music from the soul.
